Complete the opening statement and the table as required, for each age group, using the ELECT, the textbook, virtual child examples an other related resources. This assignment MUST REMAIN IN “TABLE FORMAT”. In addition, give a brief example of a possible activity that will support the root skill for each domain in each age group. Title page, references and page #’s will be expected. Complete the Self Evaluation Rubric as part of this assignment.

 

Opening Statement (small paragraph):

· Highlight 1 practical example of a child development milestone at this age, the text book or the course content (a significant skill, process, competency or ability that takes place DURING AT THAT AGE).

This can be about any area of development that you wish. Select something that you found of particular interest for this age group. This is all about practicing describing how children develop which is part of professional practice (e.g. sharing information with families, with colleagues and with children themselves)

 

Complete the table for each age range:

· Give 1 direct example from the Continuum of Development of a ROOT SKILL AND THE INDICATOR OF THAT SKILL) for each of the 5 domains. Students must indicate the root skill number and pg. # from the document, as well as an indicator (example) that shows how that skill is emerging or practiced (for example, COGNITION: “4.1 Attention Regulation: attending, disengaging and returning attention” Pg. 22).
