FAILURE TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS IN THE “PLAYING YOUR PART” SEGMENTS MAY RESULT IN POINTS BEING DEDUCTED AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER.
There are questions that require you to read a play. There are many plays in the GCC library and free to read online, so pick a play and read one today! An upcoming chapter has a “Playing Your Part” question that asks you to read either the play A Doll’s House or the play Miss Julie. It is optional to read one of these plays, but I need you to at least read about one of the plays. Both plays might be available online for free and probably every library has these plays on their stacks. It doesn’t take long to read a play, so I strongly encourage you to read one of these classic plays and then answer the question(s).
The questions are in the “Playing Your Part” sections of each chapter and are usually in the middle and/or near the end of the chapters. For questions you are not able to answer (like if you have not yet seen a live play), try to answer them with an experience you have had attending a live concert BUT I prefer that you go out and attend a play. You are required to see two plays in this class, so you may as well go and see one now! Do your best to talk about theatre if you have had the experience – which you will this semester. Answer as honestly as you can and do your best to imagine the scenarios the questions present. Write a few (2-3) good sentences for each question. I prefer quality over quantity.
